Bespoke work begins with a place, a need or sometimes simply an idea.
SYML works directly with architects, designers and clients to develop pieces in response to a particular space, scale and architectural intent. Existing ideas can be adapted, extended or completely reimagined, while new work can begin from the material itself.
The process is collaborative — moving from proposition and experimentation through prototyping, making and final installation.

The Glass Straw Pendant began with a simple exploration of brass, light and lengths of glass tube.
Rather than being a fixed object, the idea can evolve in response to its setting. A single pendant can become a clustered composition, a series of suspended elements, or a large linear installation made specifically for a table, room or architectural space.
Scale, proportion, arrangement and material finish can all change while retaining the underlying language of the original piece.
